Rohan began playing piano at age five, formally trained in jazz, classical, and pop. Early on, he was as inspired by the classical pieces and modern piano arrangements he learned in lessons. Over time, he developed a sound that he describes as “playfuland jazzy”, with a growing passion for writing songs suited for live orchestration.
Forming Swami 3 with his younger twin brothers began as fun but quickly became life-changing. Their first live performance at the British Club in Singapore confirmed for Rohan that music was his future. Since then, he has continued to grow as a performer, playing memorable shows at venues such as the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair - where the electric energy of their biggest crowd yet left a lasting impression - and Music City SF, in a venue whose visual beauty and perfect acoustics made him feel valued.
Inspired by live performances from AJR and the Jonas Brothers, Rohan dreams of one day collaborating with AJR. He is proud of the recognition Swami 3 has received in the San Francisco Chronicle and grateful for the support of over 200,000 subscribers and more than 200million views on their YouTube channel. Most of all, he’s excited about their upcoming songs “Rise Up” and “Hero,” which he believes capture the heart of their sound and message more than ever before.
Rohan’s songwriting is fueled by themes of growing up and confronting the world’s challenges while reflecting on the fleeting innocence of childhood. An old soul at heart, he seeks to create music that both comments on today’s issues and carries a timeless sense of joy, nostalgia, and hope. His vision is to craft songs that modern audiences instantly recognize—not just in sound, but in the way they speak to shared experiences and personal perspectives.
Offstage, Rohan channels his creativity into challenging coding projects and he collects Rubik’s cubes.
Rohan’s musicianship and perspective bring depth to Swami 3’s sound, blending technical mastery with heartfelt expression and a vision for music that connects across generations.
